Week 10 report

The head-to-head standings remain extremely tight through Week 10 after losses by front-running Arbitration Losers and VC Appraisers. Now there is a four-way tie for first place at 6-4 between the Losers, Appraisers, Chico's Chuggers and WWJB. And there's a four-way for fifth place at 5-5 between the Gladstone Goatwhisperers, Triple-A's, Misfits and Fresh Fish. And the Boondock Saints snapped a four-game losing streak to improve to 4-6.

WWJB posted a season-best 230 points last week to surge out to 40-point lead in the overall standings. It also broke apart the log-jam in the standings. Heading into Week 11, only three teams are within 100 points of the league-leading WWJB -- Chico's Chuggers, Goatwhisperers and Triple-A's.

WHERE YOU RANK BY POSITION

I've created a new chart on the scoring sheet so you can not only see how many points you've scored, but you can also easily look to see where you rank at each position. It can reveal some interesting facts.

For instance, last week we had our first steal of the season. The Chico's Chuggers has 1B Adam LaRoche stolen off their bench by the Boondock Saints. What's odd about this is that the Chuggers rank 10th in the league in the first base scoring.

Also, you can see that WWJB leads the league in overall scoring despite ranking dead last in the league in outfield scoring. They compensate that by having the league's best pitching, ranking 2nd in starting pitching and first in relief pitching.

Conversely, the Triple-A's remain among the top teams in the league despite ranking last in starting pitching and relief pitching. But they offset that by ranking first in the outfield and at third base.

If you want to see the accurate numbers for points by position, go to the Week 9-10 sheet (after it's been sent out to all owners for viewing) on google docs, scrolling down to the bottom left of the spreadsheet to see those numbers. The numbers on the FBLG scoring sheet will not be accurate until they've been updated at the end of the two-week scoring sheet.
