Week 2: Tuesday Roundup

Justin Bour somehow hit this ball out of the ballpark to left field.
STUDS: Stephen Strasburg (FDD) struck out 8 in 8 shutout innings to earn the win. Matt Carpenter (AL) homered, singled, walked twice, drove in 2 and scored twice. Corey Dickerson (AL) had a double, 2 singles, 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Ivan Nova (CB) struck out 6 and allowed 3 runs in a 7-inning win. Noted fan of-a the spicy-a meatball Francisco Cervelli (PM) had a 3-run homer and 2 singles. Aaron Nola (PM) struck out 6 and allowed only 1 run in an 8-inning win. It was a day to do things in pairs: Justin Bour (FF) hit a pair of 2-run homers, and Javier Baez (FF) and Asdrubal Cabrera (PYB) each hit a pair of solo homers.

DUDS: We can't find a single dud. So we'll give it to the Cleveland Indians, whose starting lineup yesterday has these averages: .159, .098, .132, .158, .154, .150, .167, .182, .200. AND THE TEAM IS SOMEHOW 6-5.

ODDS AND ENDS: Paul Goldschmidt (CB) finally hit his first homer of the year, a game-tier off Hunter Strickland in the 9th inning. Goldy is up to .158/.360/.316 now, which is only a couple hundred points behind Nick Ahmed ... Speaking of homers, Matt Kemp (BM bench) hit his first homer as a Dodger since the 2014 playoffs ... Phillies backup catcher Andrew Knapp has played 36 innings and has 3 errors already. Have we found the catching equivalent of Pedro Alvarez? ... The Cubs placed Anthony Rizzo (PYB) and the Nats placed Adam Eaton (CB) on the DL .. Hey, daily stud Francisco Cervelli, what sport do you love?
