STUDS: Max Scherzer (FF) steamrolled the Braves, tossing a 2-hit shutout and fanning 10. He also had a hit and stole a base. I guess that's why he was a first-round pick. Zack Godley (FDD) cruised against the Giants, earning the win and striking out 9 in 7 shutout innings. Noah Syndergaard (BM) struck out 5 and allowed 2 runs — 1 earned — in a 6-inning win against Miami. It's mandatory that we use #PitchersWhoRake here.— San Diego Padres (@Padres) April 10, 2018
But this mammoth dinger by @CRThrees shows a pitcher who can KA-RUSH 💣 pic.twitter.com/I4xw9NBmx2
DUDS: Jon Gray (BM) had a blow-up game at Coors Field, inexplicably allowing 10 hits and 7 runs to the Padres. He struck out 6 in the 5-inning loss, so he kept his score in positive territory. However, he allowed a 418-foot 3-run jack to former Michigan quarterback Clayton Richard, which earns him a spot here. Brandon Belt (SG) went 0 for 4 with 4 Ks. You'd almost think he was facing Clayton Kershaw (4 for 54, 28 Ks).
ODDS AND ENDS: Felipe Rivero (R) es Felipe Rivero no mas. The Pirates closer has changed his name to Felipe Vazquez. "Roberto Hernandez" must not have been available. ... The Cubs and Pirates were snowed out. ... There are 2 players in the majors with the surname Holland, and they both took losses today: Derek for the Giants and Greg for the Cardinals. ... In the video below, Joey Votto (BM) shows that he cares not for your "souvenirs."
Said it before, will say it again: Joey Votto is a national treasure. 😂 pic.twitter.com/7FHKNuiPva— MLB (@MLB) April 10, 2018
