As the 2010 FBLG season heads into its final weekend, there are still storylines to follow:
The Pickle Bugs are nursing a four-point lead over Upton No Good (4603-4599) for the overall championship.
UNG will get one more start this season from Ubaldo Jimenez on Saturday against the Cardinals and Edwin Jackson on Sunday against the Indians.
The Pickle Bugs will counter with three more scheduled pitching starts: Chad Billingsley Saturday vs. the D-backs; Ted Lilly Sunday vs. the D-backs; and Wandy Rodriguez Sunday vs. the Cubs.
The race for third place remains interesting, with the Arbitration Losers holding a 14-point lead over the Gladstone Goatwhisperers (4511-4497). The Misfits (4407) have faded from contention.
The Losers will get a start from Carlos Zambrano on Saturday vs. the Astros. They'll also pick up 14 points from Jon Garland in an emergency start if Jair Jurrjens doesn't pitch this weekend.
The GGs might get a start this weekend from Cole Hamels. But if he does pitch, it may just be for four innings. Should Clayton Kershaw not pitch this weekend, they'll pick up a 3-point start from Ian Kennedy in the emergency role. There's also the hope that Tim Lincecum could pitch Sunday or Monday (tiebreaker), if needed.
And in the consolation final, UNG leads the VC Appraisers 96-83.
This will be the final blog update until the end of the season. Good luck to all.

Final week of 2010 season
As the FBLG moves deeper into its final week of the season, there are still races left.
But one race that is over is the head-to-head championship. The Gladstone Goatwhisperers wrapped up the head-to-head championship with a 150-118 win over the Arbitration Losers. Both teams struggled with keeping healthy players in the lineup every day. The killer for the Losers was their hope of two pitching starts for Jair Jurrjens turned into zero starts. They ended up with a six-point emergency start from Jon Garland.
The Goatwhisperers won the series 2-1. So here's how the head-to-head season ended (almost)
1st, Gladstone Goatwhisperers (Arik)
2nd, Arbitration Losers (Tim)
3rd, Pickle Bugs (Jon)
4th, Misfits (Reid)
The only spot left undetermined is for fifth-place or the consolation championship. Upton No Good faces the VC Appraisers. So far into the final week, UNG leads 52-36.
The bigger races this week are in the overall standings, and that starts with the overall championship.
After Tuesday, the Pickle Bugs lead the overall battle by 21 points over Upton No Good. The big victory was Ted Lilly's win over Ubaldo Jimenez on Monday.
But it's not all good news for the Bugs. They learned Tuesday that Martin Prado is done for the season. However, as per league rules, they cannot replace Prado in their lineup until he's missed 3 games. That means Saturday, at the earliest. They also lost 3B Ryan Zimmerman for the season. With the Phillies clinching, it's unlikely they'll get another start from Roy Oswalt. But they should get one more start each from Lilly, Wandy Rodriguez and Chad Billingsley.
UNG has already lost their No. 1 overall pick for the season -- Hanley Ramirez. But they will almost certainly get one more start from Jimenez, who is still searching for his 20th win of the season. They'll also get starts from Jhoulys Chacin and Yovani Gallardo, and possibly Edwin Jackson.
The other race is for third, fourth and fifth place overall.
The Arbitration Losers got solid starts from Roy Halladay and Carlos Zambrano, helping them surge out to a 42-point advantage over the Goatwhisperers. Hallday likely won't get another start, as he gets ready for the postseason. But Zambrano should get another start.
The Goatwhisperers should get one more start from each of their four starters. However, Cole Hamels' final start figures to be short, perhaps not long enough to qualify for a win. But if the Giants need a tiebreaker game, Tim Lincecum could be in line for two starts.
The Goatwhispers are trying to fend off the Misfits for fourth place. The Misfits trail the GGs by 69 points. That margin could insurmountable considering the Misfits won't get a Week 26 start from ace Adam Wainwright, and Phillies Ryan Howard and Shane Victorino figure to get a lot of rest this weekend.
