Week 1: Saturday's Roundup

Jeremy Guthrie's spot start was an abomination: 0.2 inning pitched, 6 hits, 4 walks, 2 sacrifice flies and 10 earned runs.
That would be a score of -12.3. He's still available in FBLG, so... buy low, right?
Studs: Aledmys Diaz (CB) went 3 for 5 with 2 homers, 3 runs and 4 RBIs. Michael Wacha (AL) allowed 1 run and struck out 6 in a 6-inning win. J.T. Realmuto (CB) went 3 for 6 with a triple, 2 RBIs and a run. Aaron Nola (PM) allowed 3 runs and fanned 7 in a 6-inning victory. Kris Bryant (PM) went 3 for 6 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and a run. Gregory Polanco (PYB) went 4 for 4 with a double, a steal, 2 runs and an RBI. Brandon Drury (Q) went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs and 3 runs. Yasmany Tomas (FF) went 3 for 4 with an RBI triple — wait, really? — and 2 runs. Zack Greinke (R) allowed 1 run and struck out 6 in a 6.1-inning win.

Duds: None, except for the aforementioned Guthrie.

Week 1: Monday's Roundup

How you feel when you see San Diego coming up on the schedule.
Studs: We expect to say this a lot this season: It was a good day to face the Padres. Joc Pederson (Q) had a grand slam and a sacrifice fly. Yasmani Grandal (Q) hit a 2-run homer and a solo homer. Clayton Kershaw (CB) struck out 8 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning win. Justin Turner (M) went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and 2 runs. Elsewhere, Mark Reynolds (PYB) went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, three RBIs and two runs.

Note: ESPN's scoring isn't registering errors for some reason, so the scores for Zack Cozart, Corey Seager and Jonathan Villar are inaccurate. The commissioners will investigate. Updated: Errors are deducted at some point overnight. Keep this in mind when looking at your scores. Monday's totals are now accurate.

Week 1: Opening Day Roundup

Madison Bumgarner's 2-homer performance would have been worth 23 points under FBLG's old scoring system.
In ESPN, it was worth only 15. Sorry, Reid.
Studs: We're going to rename the Studs list and call it the Bumgarner list. The bad news for The Misfits is that ESPN doesn't count batting points for pitchers. Madison Bumgarner (M) hit a pair of solo homers and earned an honorable mention here by striking out 11 in a 7-inning no-decision (see the Duds list for details). He allowed 3 runs. Carlos Martinez (AL) struck out 10 Cubs in 7.1 innings but didn't get the win because of a bullpen implosion. A.J. Pollock (LGM) went 3 for 5 with a 2-run homer and 2 runs. Eduardo Nunez (R) went 3 for 4 with a double, two steals, an RBI and a run scored.

Dud: Likewise, we're going to rename the Duds list and call it the San Francisco bullpen list. Mark Melancon (AL) struck out 1 while allowing 2 runs in 0.2 inning, blowing the save and taking the loss.
