Playoffs, Week 6: Thursday and Friday's Roundup

Buster Posey went exactly 2 months between homers. And then Jaime Garcia came along.

Studs: Johnny Cueto (FF) tossed a complete game, striking out 7 and allowing 1 run in the win. Bartolo Colon (FF) struck out 6 in 7 shutout innings to win. Buster Posey (LGM) homered, singled twice and drove in 4. Trea Turner (LY) had a homer, double, 2 singles, 4 runs, 2 steals and an error. DJ Lemahieu (AL) doubled twice, singled, drove in 3 runs and stole a base. Aroldis Chapman (HE) struck out the side in a scoreless inning to earn the vulture win. Kenta Maeda (HE) struck out 6 and allowed 1 run in a 5-inning win. Max Scherzer (M) struck out 8 and allowed 2 runs in a 7-inning win. Andrew McCutchen (R21) homered twice and drove in 3.

Duds: AJ Ramos (LGM) allowed 5 hits and the game-losing run, striking out 1. Chris Carter (R) had a hit and an error. Addison Russell (GH) singled and scored but made 2 errors.

Playoffs, Week 6: Wednesday's Roundup

Studs: Jean Segura (HE) was 5-for-6 with 2 homers, 3 runs and 3 RBIs. He has 4 homers in his past 2 games. Jon Lester (M) had an RBI single and struck out 8 in 8 shutout innings to beat the Cardinals. Marcell Ozuna (HE) had a 3-run homer and an RBI single. Junior Guerra (GH) struck out 5 and allowed no runs in a 6-inning win. Charlie Blackmon (GH) was a double shy of the cycle and scored twice. Tanner Roark (LY) had a single and struck out 7 in 7 shutout innings to beat the Mets. Chris Owings (LY) homered, doubled, scored twice and drove in 2. Anthony Rizzo (LY) homered twice and drove in 3. Brandon Drury (LGM) homered for the 3rd straight game, doubled, scored 2 and drove in 2.

Duds: Aledmys Diaz (M) and Bryce Harper (LY) were each 0-for-2 with a caught stealing. Adam Duvall (LGM) was 0-for-4 with an error.

Playoffs, Week 6: Tuesday's Roundup

Studs: Paul Goldschmidt (GH) had a double, 2 singles, 3 runs, an RBI and a steal. Jean Segura (HE) had two solo homers and also singled and scored. Noah Syndergaard (HE) struck out 10 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning no-decision, adding a single at the plate. Joey Votto (AL) had a homer, 2 singles, 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Dan Straily (R) struck out 8 and allowed 1 run in an 8-inning win. Ivan Nova (FF) struck out 11 and allowed one earned run in a 6-inning no-decision.

Duds: Drew Pomeranz (R21) allowed 5 runs and struck out 3 in a 2-inning loss. Hernan Perez (HE) scored a run and made an error. Jose Reyes (HE) was 0-for-5 with an error. Mark Melancon (R) allowed a game-losing homer to Rene Rivera and took the loss. Jeanmar Gomez (PYB) allowed 3 earned runs and took the loss without getting an out. Adeiny Hechavarria (FF) went 0-fer with an error.

Playoffs, Week 6: Monday's Roundup

No-hitter, schmo-hitter. The most entertaining part of this game was Cowboy Joe tossing Crazy Joe.
Studs: Kyle Hendricks (LGM) was throwing a no-hitter until he allowed a solo homer to lead off the 9th. He finished with 7 Ks and 1 run allowed in an 8-inning win. Carlos Gonzalez (LGM) went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Brandon Drury (LGM) went 4 for 5 with a homer, a double and 3 runs. Jeremy Hellickson (LY) scored a run an allowed only an unearned run while fanning 6 in a 6.1-inning win. Freddie Freeman (R21) went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and 3 runs. 

Duds: Gerrit Cole (GH) allowed 5 runs in a 2-inning loss. He did strike out 3 and get a hit, though. Jose Peraza (HE) went 0 for 4 with an error. Jean Segura (HE) also went 0 for 4 with an error, which is a pretty sad result for a guy who played in a 12-9 game. Jedd Gyorko (AL) went 0 for 2 with an error.
