Final analysis: The Chico's Chuggers had a very low DL-time number. However, each player lost to the DL were significant players: Peavy, Harang, Morgan, Soto. But in all cases, the Chuggers were able to find suitable replacements. The Chuggers hit big with mid-round pitching picks with Wainwright and Wandy Rodriguez. Then they twice picked up and dumped Jorge De La Rosa before picking him up a third time. De La Rosa helped carry the Chuggers to the finish when Peavy and Harang were out of commission. The Week 2 add of Nyger Morgan was huge, as was the Week 2 add of Yadier Molina. While the Chuggers spent most of the season with a bench that was comprised of pitchers and a backup catcher, they did not endure a significant injury to any of their other positions players all season under Morgan was lost for the season in Week 22.

Final analysis: The second-place finish was the best for owner Scott Phillips. WWJB was the one team that was able to keep some sort of presure on Chico's Chuggers. It was a good season, but there was room for regret. The 60 weeks of DL is high, but a bit misleading. Most of that time was comprised of long DL stints by players who were not likely to make huge impacts. The biggest downfall for WWJB was their outfield. Top outfielder Alfonso Soriano was either injured or struggling all season long. Scott played with fire by drafting Milton Bradley and got burned. All of this was compounded by the early cut-and-run of Justin Upton. But there were good moves, too. The Week 7 add of Michael Bourn and Week 9 add of Clint Barmes pay big dividends.
