HEAD-TO-HEAD PLAYOFF SCORES
Misfits 112, Fresh Fish 28
Gladstone Goatwhisperers 72, VC Appraisers 42
Pickle Bugs 79, Triple-A's 71
Upton No Good 78, Arbitration Losers 77
The first round of the head-to-head playoffs is off to roaring start, expect for the Fresh Fish. A negative outing by Strasburg, plus injuries to three hitters have left the Fish in a deep hole. If they can't erase the 84-point deficit over the next four days, the Misfits will advance to the semifinals. The Goatwhisperers, despite some faulty pitching, holds a 30-point edge over the VC Appraisers. But it's not all good news for the GGs. Furcal went on the DL, and Cueto drew a 7-game suspension. However, we don't doubt he'll appeal that, so it may have no immediate impact. The other two games are tight. The Pickle Bugs hold a narrow lead thanks to solid outings from Oswalt and Wandy Rodriguez. The Bugs' rotation sets up nicely for Week 20. And Upton No Good and the Arbitration Losers are neck-in-neck.
