Studs: Lance Lynn (RMH) allowed only 2 hits while striking out 8 in 8 shutout innings to beat the Nationals. Jake Arrieta (AL) allowed 2 hits and no runs while striking out 9 in a 7-inning win. Clayton Kershaw (FF) singled, struck out 7 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning victory. Bartolo Colon (FF) shut down the Padres — shocking, I know. He allowed 2 runs and struck out 7 in a 7.1-inning win.
Duds: Sergio Romo (Misfits) got only one out, allowed 5 runs and took the loss for the rare minus-8. Matt Holliday (AL) went 0 for 3 with an error. Drew Stubbs (RMH) went 1 for 4 with an error.
Transaction: Ryan's Rangers activate 1B Matt Adams and send Mark Reynolds to the bench.
