Week 18: Tuesday's Roundup

Although there were plenty of pitching studs today, our ultimate
stud is Cubs catcher John Baker, who pitched a scoreless inning
against the Rockies, got the win and scored the winning run.
Studs: Cole Hamels (Tanana) got the win and struck out 8 in 8 shutout innings. Mike Leake (FF) got the win and struck out 8 in 7.2 shutout innings. He also had an RBI single. Tyson Ross (Tanana) walked a zillion guys, but he also struck out 7 and allowed 1 run in a 6-inning win. Henderson Alvarez (DZ) singled, struck out 4 and didn't allow a run in a 7-inning win. Adrian Gonzalez (DZ) doubled twice, singled, drove in 2 and scored twice. Emilio Bonifacio (AL) homered, doubled, singled twice and drove in a pair. Yasiel Puig (RMH) went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double and 2 runs.

Duds: Matt Holliday (AL) went 0 for 2 with 2 walks and an error — we call that a "Joey Votto." Daniel Murphy (Misfits) went 0 for 4 with an error. Jhonny Peralta (FF) went 1 for 4 with an error.

Transaction: Tanana in the Tailpipe activates 1B Justin Morneau and benches Ben Paulsen.
