Jake Arrieta has four hits this season. Three came this week, including this home run. Oh, and he also had two top-notch starts on the mound, too. |
Studs: Jake Arrieta (AZ) continued his torrid recent pace, dominating the White Sox in a complete game win. Arrieta allowed 1 earned run and struck out 9, adding his first career home run at the plate. Chad Bettis (Bryce) rebounded from one of the season's worst starts to allow 3 runs and strike out 8 in a 6-inning win. Max Scherzer (CM) also bounced back from a poor start, this time striking out 7 and allowing 2 runs in an 8.2-inning win. Chris Heston (Misfits) dominated the Phillies, striking out 7 and allowing a run in 6.2 innings. Charlie Blackmon (AL) had 3 singles, a run and 4 RBIs. Tyson Ross (AZ) pitched shutout ball into the 7th, striking out 6. Justin Bour (FF) had 2 doubles and 3 RBIs as the Marlins roughed up Johnny Cueto.
Duds: Trevor Rosenthal (AL) barfed up a 2-run lead, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs to take the loss while only recording 2 outs. Carlos Gomez (PYB), clearly intimidated by Yasiel Puig, went 0 for 4 with 2 Ks and an error.
