Chris Carter (R) homered twice, doubled, drove in 3 and scored 3 runs. Clayton Kershaw (FF) had an RBI single and shut out the Padres, striking out 14. Nolan Arenado (PYB) homered, singled, drove in 3 and scored twice. Madison Bumgarner (AL) got the win and struck out 7 in 6 shutout innings. Julio Teheran (R21) fanned 9 in 7 shutout innings.
Duds: Tom Koehler (AL) allowed 8 earned runs in a 2.1-inning loss. Hector Rondon (M) pitched an inning and fanned 2, but he allowed a run and took the loss.
