| There's nothing more refreshing after you hit for the cycle than the cool, refreshing waters of the Rocky Mountains. |
Studs: Nolan Arenado (PYB) hit for the cycle and drove in 4. Three of those RBIs came on his game-winning, walk-off homer. Jimmy Nelson (LGM) went the distance against the Padres, striking out 10 and allowing an unearned run in the victory. Willson Contreras (LGM) went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Anthony Rizzo (FF) was a triple shy of a cycle, scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Billy Hamilton (FF) went 3 for 5 with a double, a steal, 2 runs and an RBI. Jacob deGrom struck out 6 and didn't allow a run in an 8-inning win. He also hit his first career homer. Brandon Crawford (AL) was a triple short of a cycle and drove in 3.
Duds: Lance Lynn (Q) served up 4 homers in Baltimore and allowed 7 runs with 5 strikeouts in a 4.2-inning loss. Matt Wieters (PM) went 0-fer with an error. Mark Reynolds (PYB) singled, walked and erred. Keon Broxton (AL) singled and erred. Mark Melancon had a remarkably bad day for a closer, allowing 4 runs, blowing the save and taking the loss while recording only 1 out. That's a -7.7 if you're keeping score at home.
