Week 9: Thursday Roundup

Clayton Kershaw returned, but he didn't throw a single pitch 90 mph or faster. Also, he might be injured again.
Let's go to St. Louis for live footage of
Felipe Vazquez pitching the 9th inning.
STUDS: It's a mostly Project Mayhem edition of Studs. Congratulations, Bill! Aaron Nola baffled the Dodgers, striking out 7 and allowing 1 run in a 7-inning win. Ben Zobrist was a triple short of a cycle and drove in 2. Francisco Cervelli hit a 3-run homer, singled and scored twice. Elsewhere in FBLG, Jose Quintana (CB) was Dr. Jekyll today, fanning 6 and allowing 1 run in a 6-inning win.

DUDS: Felipe "Vazquez" (R) had a remarkable meltdown against the Cardinals. He failed to retire a batter and allowed 5 runs — only 4 earned! — while blowing a save and taking the loss. That's a putrid minus-8. In other news, Clayton Kershaw's back! The lefty posted a 9-point no-decision for The Misfits, but he appears to be injured again; he's getting an MRI on his back. Oh, the irony. Rich's favorite Beaver, Michael Conforto (non-sex-offender category), singled, walked and erred for the Fasanos. Bryce Harper (AL) stole a base, walked and erred. Starlin Castro (BM) went 1 for 4 with 3 Ks and an error.
