STUDS: Edwin Diaz (M) struck out 2 in a scoreless inning to earn a vulture win. His win also answered the age-old question: when the Mets and Nationals face each other, does someone HAVE to win? The answer, apparently, is yes. German Marquez (HG) dominated the Pirates, striking out 7 in 8 shutout innings for the win. Clayton Kershaw (FF) struck out 8 and allowed 2 runs in a 6.1-inning win.
DUDS: Victor Robles (CB) walked and was caught stealing. Francisco Cervelli (FF) singled, erred and got nailed in the chest by a foul ball, leaving with an injury. Austin Riley (FF) singled and erred, but avoided injury.
