Final analysis: The Fish's greatest accomplishment of the season is to finish the year with the second best starting pitching despite losing 43 weeks to the DL for three of his top four pitchers. The lack of fear to grab Rockies pitchers (first Jimenez, then Marquis) helped bridge that gap, plus the late-season addition of Tim Hudson. But injuries, and an inability to deal with them, at 1B (Delgado) and 3B (Ramirez) proved too much for the Fish. Once again, Rick showed he can be a great owner in April and May, and not so great in August-September. Still, the Fish managed a fourth-place finish in the head-to-head.
