Playoffs Week 3: Monday's report

First base is a tradition-rich position for LGM. Juan Francisco's
predecessors are Anthony Rizzo, Yuni Betancourt and Ike Davis.
STUDS: Francisco Liriano (Misfits) got the win and struck out 13 in 7 shutout innings against the whiff-happy Padres. Jose Fernandez (AL) struck out 8 and allowed 1 earned run in a 6-inning win. He also singled and scored. Jeff Samardzija (GGG) allowed 1 run and struck out 5 in a complete-game win.

DUDS: Jordan Zimmermann (AB) allowed 8 runs and struck out 5 in a 5-inning loss. Juan Francisco (LGM) struck out in all 4 at-bats and left 5 runners on base. Welcome to Lawyers, Guns & Money, Juan!

NOTE: Cubs OF David DeJesus was acquired by the Nationals on waivers, but the Nats have since placed him on waivers themselves. Stay tuned.
