The Check Swing: Week 6

FBLG second-round choice Bryce Harper has been playing like a first-round pick.
1. Retire 21 (5-1, 1,112 points, last week 2): The Fightin' Clementes leapfrogged the Zaunies to move back into first place thanks to a big week from Starling Marte and outstanding outings from Clayton Kershaw, Jacob deGrom and Aaron Harang.

2. Already Zaun (5-1, 1,109 points, last week 1): Wil Myers and Troy Tulowitzki got hurt and combined for only 3 points this week. On the bright side, Hunter Pence is back to add depth to the outfield. Too bad he doesn't play shortstop.

3. Pitch You Blockhead (5-1, 1,037 points, last week 4): Scott's team put up 196 points, and 112 of that came from the rotation. It helped that Zack Greinke, James Shields, Lance Lynn and A.J. Burnett made seven starts, but still.

4. Soler Eclipse (3-3, 1,020 points, last week 3): Adam's rotation fell flat this week, but Jace Peterson finally put up some points at second base. And Paul Goldschmidt is the league's No. 2 scorer, which isn't a surprise.

5. The Bryce is Right (1-5, 991 points, last week 5): Speaking of the league's top scorers, Bryce Harper is now No. 1 after a 40-point outburst. Too bad the luck of the scheduling draw had Bill's team facing the only team to crack 200 points this week.

6. Arbitration Losers (4-2, 982 points, last week 8): Brandon Belt sure came to life at the right time for Tim's team, putting up 30 points as the Losers posted a total of 211. It also helps that Jon Lester is looking like his old self.

7. Rookies (3-3, 945 points, last week 7): Francisco Cervelli and Andrew McCutchen combined for 40 points as Henry's team beat the floundering Fish. Shelby Miller almost tossed a no-hitter and has been one of the league's top pitchers.

Rick's mascot needs a hug.
8. Chateau Marmol (3-3, 944 points, last week 6): Matt's pitching staff scored only 38 points this week, and Max Scherzer had 43 by himself. Shame on Andrew Cashner, Jon Niese, Mat Latos and Steve Cishek. But hey, Kris Bryant scored an impressive 29.

9. Fresh Fish (0-6, 890 points, last week 9): We'd feel more sorry for Rick if he hadn't won the championship last year and enjoyed a Panda Express feast at our expense. How do you like that Orange Chicken now, Rick?

10. Misfits (1-5, 823 points, last week 10): Reid's team didn't have a bad week, but there wasn't much to get excited about. Kenley Jansen is back and Josh Harrison appears to have found his stroke, so there are signs of life here.
