Week 2: Thursday's Roundup

In his debut for Goldschmidt Happens, Vincent Velasquez posted 31 points — and became the team's leading scorer.
Studs: Vincent Velasquez (GH) singled and struck out 16 Padres in a 3-hit shutout. If you're keeping score, San Diego has been shut out 5 times in 10 games. Jaime Garcia (R) singled twice, scored and struck out 13 Brewers in a 1-hit shutout. It's not often that a 30-point outing is the second-best performance of the day. Stephen Strasburg (R) scored a run, fanned 7 and allowed 2 runs in a 7.2-inning win. Jason Hammel (FF) had an RBI double, scored, struck out 3 and didn't allow a run in a 6-inning win.

Duds: Brandon Phillips (R) went 0 for 4 with an error. Angel Pagan (LY) singled and erred.

Transactions: Goldschmidt Happens places OF Charlie Blackmon on the disabled list and signs Jeremy Hazelbaker. The Rookies sign 3B Adonis Garcia.
