Studs: Trea Turner (LY) was a double short of a cycle and scored 3 runs. Eugenio Suarez (R) hit a 3-run homer, doubled and scored twice. Kyle Hendricks (LGM) struck out 12 and allowed 2 runs in a 7-inning no-decision. Giancarlo Stanton (LGM) homered, singled twice and drove in 3. Madison Bumgarner (AL) shut down the Orioles, getting the win and striking out 8 in 7 scoreless innings. Joey Votto (AL) went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and a run.
Duds: Gerrit Cole (GH) struck out 3 in 4.1 innings, but he allowed 12 hits and 6 runs — 5 earned — and took the loss. Tyler Anderson (R21) fanned 2 and allowed 4 runs in a 3-inning loss in which he was ejected.
Transaction: Fresh Fish place OF Matt Holliday on the DL and replace him with Yasmany Tomas.
