STUDS: It was a good day to be a Washington hitter against Nick Pivetta and the Phillies. Juan Soto (PM) went 4 for 6 with 2 homers, 5 RBIs and 3 runs. Bryce Harper (AL) hit a 3-run homer, scored 3 runs and walked 3 times. Anthony Rendon (PYB) hit a 3-run homer, doubled twice and scored 3 runs. Trea Turner (SG) went 3 for 5 with a 2-run homer, 4 runs, a walk and a steal. Scott Kingery (SG) was a triple short of a cycle and scored twice. Johan Camargo (FDD) went 3 for 5 with a 2-run double and 2 runs. Jason Heyward (FDD) hit a 2-run homer, singled and scored 3 runs. Joe Musgrove (M) shut down the Padres, fanning 5 and earning the win in 7 shutout innings.
DUDS: The aforementioned Pivetta (FDD) had another brutal blow-up game, allowing 3 homers and 7 runs while fanning 2 in a 1.2-inning loss. Tucker Barnhart (R) singled and erred.
