STUDS: Matt Carpenter (AL) went 5 for 5 with 2 homers, a double, 3 RBIs and 5 runs as the Cardinals lit up Corey Kluber. Go figure, right? That's a 16-point day for Carpenter. Javier Baez (FF) homered twice and was a triple short of a cycle. That's a 14-point performance. Rookie sensation Freddy Peralta (BM) fanned 10 and didn't allow a run in a 7-inning win. He drove in 5 runs. Scooter Gennett singled, doubled, scored 3 runs, drove in a run, walked twice and stole a base.
DUDS: Mark Melancon (FF) got 2 outs but allowed a run and blew a save. Yasmani Grandal (PYB) went 0 for 1 with an error. Ketel Marte (BM) walked and erred.
