Week 26: Monday's report

Get this man to a playoff contender!
He can only pitch his best with something on the line.
STUDS: For the second season in a row, Marco Estrada (Test. Braun) is shining brightest late in the season. Last year, pitching for BAWG, Estrada was dominant down the stretch to help his team to the head-to-head title. This year, he got the Braunies off to a hot start in the consolation finals with 6 strikeouts in 7 shutout innings for the win. He added a pair of singles at the plate. Adam Wainwright and Carlos Beltran (Misfits) were the only players on Reid's squad to show up Monday as he tries to hold off Tim for second place in points. Waino struck out 5 and allowed 3 runs in a 7-inning win, also singling at the plate. Beltran had a single and a 2-run homer. Jeff Samardzija (Gonzo), Johnny Cueto (Arb. Losers) and Charlie Morton (Sagebrushers) had strong no-decisions. Aramis Ramirez (Muumuu) had a solo homer and 2 singles.

DUDS: Oh, Rick. Here we get all excited for you to have something to play for, and a single by Brandon Phillips is the only point you get on Monday? Zeroes for Todd Frazier, Giancarlo Stanton and Ryan Ludwick and a bunch of DNPs litter the rest of the Fresh Fish roster. Frazier did it interestingly, though: a double, a run, an error and a caught stealing. Ludwick, batting behind Joey Votto (0 for 0, 5 walks) went 0 for 5 and left an astounding 10 men on base. Reid was snakebitten by Roy Halladay's dangling right arm, as Halladay left after facing 3 batters and took the loss. The injury also means the Misfits won't get a second start out of Doc this week.
