Week 21, semifinals: Tuesday roundup

We hope that Jake Arrieta takes a chance to re-create this scene during the Cubs' West Coast tour.
Forget that Jonathan Lucroy is being out-slugged
this year by Adeiny Hechavarria, and just enjoy
the moment, Scott.
Studs: Jonathan Lucroy (PYB) emerged from a season-long funk, hitting 2 homers and a double and driving in 3. Speaking of season-long funks, Jimmy Rollins (FF) hit a 2-run homer and doubled. Clean-shaven Stephen Strasburg (FF) allowed 2 runs and struck out 7 in a 6-inning win. Jake Arrieta (AZ) struck out 8 in a 6-inning win, allowing no earned runs and adding a double, a run scored and an error. He now leads the National League with 16 wins. Alex Wood (SE) had a classic Alex Wood day, striking out 4, walking 3, singling, scoring, stranding runners all over the place and allowing an earned run in a 5.2-inning win. Noah Syndergaa(aaaaa)rd (AL) struck out 9 and allowed 2 earned runs in a 5-inning win, adding an RBI double. Dee Gordon (R21) had 2 singles, 2 runs and stole 4 bases, which raises the question of how the game was able to be finished if he took all the bases. Jaime Garcia (CM) struck out 6 and allowed 1 run in 6 innings, earning the win and lowering his ERA to a revolting 1.77.

Duds: Yangervis Solarte (PYB) had a single and an error. James Shields (PYB) allowed 5 runs and struck out 2 in a 5.2-inning loss. Jose Reyes (SE) was 0-4 with an error. Welington Castillo (AZ) was 0-2 and committed an error on a catcher's interference, which is totally the lamest way to commit an error. Brandon Crawford had the ultimate dud day, going 0-3 with two strikeouts, four men left on base and an error before leaving with an injury. He is reported to also have stolen an old lady's wheelchair and kicked a puppy.
