Week 17: Friday Roundup

Last year, Jacob deGrom went 15-10 with a 3.53 ERA.
This year, deGrom is 5-7 with a 1.85 ERA. 

STUDS: If you have a pitcher facing the Mets when Jacob deGrom pitches, be sure to get him in the lineup. This week's example is Anibal Sanchez (M), who struck out 9 and allowed 1 run in a 6-inning win. David Peralta (R) was a triple short of a cycle, scored twice and walked. Jose Quintana (CB) fanned 6 in a 6-inning win against the Padres. Am I supposed to be impressed? Rich's favorite lefty, Patrick Corbin (FF), struck out 8 and allowed 3 runs in a 6-inning win. Javier Baez (FF) homered, tripled, scored twice and walked.

DUD: HEY! WADE! Davis (M) struck out 1 in 0.2 inning, but he allowed a 3-run walk-off bomb to Eric Thames. Davis blew the save and took the loss.

LOL METS: Jacob deGrom (FDD) struck out 9 and allowed 2 earned runs in 8 innings. He also drove in the Mets' only run. Naturally, he took the loss as his ERA shot all the way up to 1.85 and his record fell to 5-7.
