| Sean Newcomb was THIS close to throwing a no-hitter, and then the world learned about his racist, homophobic tweets. His day went sour in a hurry. |
We're back in business after a few days of being offline down at the commissioners' office. Rich was camping out at the box office so he could get Styx tickets the moment they went on sale (first row — way to go, buddy!), and yours truly was competing in a rally-car race in South America. You didn't miss much in FBLG; some players were good, others were bad.

A Reds pitcher posted a 21-point win? (Checks calendar to see whether it's April Fool's Day.) |
STUDS: Sean Newcomb (SG) lost a no-hitter with 2 outs in the 9th inning and 2 strikes on Chris Taylor (FDD). Coincidentally, Taylor and Newcomb play for teams that were facing each other in FBLG this week, and a no-hitter would have given the Stable Geniuses a win against the Fasanos. Sorry, Matt. Newcomb finished with 8 Ks and 1 run allowed in an 8.2-inning win. Nick Markakis (FDD) was a triple short of a cycle, scored twice and drove in 3. Buster Posey (FF) went 4 for 5 with a double, 2 runs and 3 RBIs. Ben Zobrist (PM) homered, doubled, singled twice and scored twice. Zack Wheeler (PM) struck out 7 Pirates in 6 shutout innings, and the Mets bullpen miraculously held on to a 1-0 lead so Wheeler could pick up the win. Wheeler also drove in the only run with a double because the New York offense is a joke. Luis Castillo (CB) fanned 9 Phillies and got the win in 7 shutout innings. Kyle Hendricks (CB) struck out 8 and allowed 2 runs in a 7-inning win against the Cardinals.
DUDS: Juan Soto (PM) walked and was caught stealing. Daniel Murphy (FDD) walked and erred. Good job, Nationals.
