Week 17: Thursday Report

Walk it off, flip the bat, lose the lid. 

STUDS: Mike Foltynewicz (PYB) struck out 5 and allowed 2 runs in a 6-inning win. Christian Yelich (M) was a triple shy of the cycle and scored 3 runs... in a game his team lost by 16 runs. Clayton Kershaw (M) allowed 2 runs and struck out 7 in a 6-inning win. Max Scherzer (FF) was quite Scherzery, striking out 10 and allowing 2 runs in a 6-inning win. Austin Hedges (PM) homered, singled twice, walked and drove in 3. Trea Turner (SG) homered, singled, walked, drove in 4 runs, scored twice and stole 2 bases. Cody Bellinger (SG) hit a grand slam and an RBI single. Bryce Harper (AL) homerd, singled, walked twice, drove in 2 and scored 2.

DUDS: Paul DeJong (BM) walked and was caught stealing. Brigadier General Dansby Swanson (PYB) committed an error that let the Union burn down Atlanta again. HEY! WADE! Davis (M) allowed 2 runs in 0.1 innings, blowing the save and taking the loss. Raisel Iglesias (PM) allowed 3 runs in an inning, striking out 1. Jhoulys Chacin (R) allowed 8 runs - still less than half that the team gave up overall - and struck out 3 in a 4.1-inning loss. AJ Pollock (AL) singled, walked and erred.
