Week 9: Wednesday Roundup

Good thing this photographer showed up on time,
because there wasn't much time to get an action shot of Kevin "Gas Can" Gausman.
STUDS: Pete Alonso (HG) had a pair of 2-run homers and a single. Aaron Nola (HG) struck out 8 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning win. Kyle Hendricks (PM) struck out 7 and allowed a run in an 8-inning win. Trea Turner (CB) tripled, singled twice, stole a base and scored twice. Austin Riley (FF) hit a grand slam and singled. Juan Soto (WLB) homered, singled, walked twice and scored 4 runs. Bryce Harper (LCL) was a triple shy of a cycle and drove in 4. Josh Bell (YA) homered, singled twice, scored twice and drove in 3. Howie Kendrick (YA) singled, doubled, scored and drove in 4. Anthony Rendon (YA) tripled, singled, scored twice and drove in 2. Andrew McCutchen (YA) homered, drove in 2, walked 3 times and scored 4 runs.

DUDS: Michael Wacha (M) allowed 6 runs and struck out 2 in an inning. Edwin Diaz (M) blew a save hilariously, striking out no one and allowing 4 runs in a 0.1-inning loss. Everything was a missile off him, too. That's a minus-7.7 for Diaz... which somehow wasn't the night's worst score. No, that goes to Kevin Gausman (AL), who allowed 8 runs and struck out 1 in a 1-inning loss. That's a minus-9.
