Week 2: Thursday Roundup

Did you know that D.J. LeMahieu was originally a Chicago Cub? In 2011, Theo Epstein traded him and Tyler Colvin
to Colorado for Ian Stewart and Casey Weathers. That was a bigger whiff than every Ian Stewart at-bat in history.
Just look at this
goofy-looking doofus.
STUDS: Goofy-looking doofus Jose Martinez (BM) went 4 for 5 with a homer, 2 doubles, 6 RBIs and a walk. Much to the chagrin of a certain commissioner, D.J. LeMahieu (AL) homered twice, doubled twice and drove in 4. Those 14 points came against the commissioners, coincidentally. Stuff that 15-hop single to right field in your pipe and smoke it, Rich. Francisco Cervelli (PM) homered, tripled and drove in 3. Chris Stratton (SG) fanned 4 in 7 scoreless innings and got the win as the Giants 1-hit the Padres. The hit was by noted slugger and pinch-hitter extraordinaire Clayton Richard. Gregory Polanco (M) hit a pair of solo homers.

DUDS: Christian Villanueva (R) went 0 for 3 with an error. Kris Bryant (CB) went 0 for 2 with a walk and an error. Trevor Story (M) went 0 for 5 with 4 Ks. Bryce Harper (AL) went 0 for 4 with 3 Ks.
