Studs: Three Braves took advantage of a doubleheader to put up big numbers. Justin Upton (Rookies) had a double, 3 singles, 4 RBIs and 2 runs. Tommy La Stella (Rookies) tripled, doubled twice, scored a run and drove in 5. Chris Johnson (Misfits) had a double, 4 singles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Gio Gonzalez (RR) struck out 7 and got the win in 7 shutout innings. Anthony Rendon (RR) went 4 for 8, including a double and a triple, in a doubleheader. He also had 2 RBIs and 3 runs. Zack Greinke (PYB) struck out 10 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning win. Ryan Braun (RR) tripled, singled, drove in 2 and scored twice. He also had to play center field after trying to kill Carlos Gomez.
Duds: Lance Lynn (RMH) allowed 6 earned runs in a 2-inning loss. Ryan Howard (E-3) went 1 for 7 with an RBI but made 2 errors in a doubleheader. Anthony Rizzo (RMH) went 0 for 7 with an error in the Cubs' twin bill. Aaron Hill (DZ) went 0 for 4 with an error. Everth Cabrera (Misfits) went 0 for 3 with an error.
