Week 6: Wednesday's Roundup

Wilson Ramos: "Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist.
Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic."
Studs: It was a pitchers' day in FBLG on Wednesday. Max Scherzer (Misfits) merely tied the single-game strikeout record with 20 in a complete-game win. It being the Nationals, he of course had to get the last out with the tying run on base. Noah Syndergaard (HE) checked all the boxes: he struck out 6 and allowed 2 runs in an 8-inning win, made an error, and, oh, cracked a pair of home runs, including a 3-run shot. So that's why they call him Thor. Drew Pomeranz (R21) struck out 10 in 6 shutout innings for the win. It being the Padres, he of course had to throw a shutout as his offense managed 1 whole run for him. Jaime Garcia (Rookies) allowed no earned runs and struck out 8 in a 7-inning win. The lone hitter on the list is Charlie Blackmon (GH), who homered, singled twice, scored 3 times and drove in 3.

Duds: So many duds today. For shame. Odubel Herrera (LGM) singled and made his fifth error, which seems like a lot for a center fielder to have in mid-May. Cameron Rupp (GH) went 0-for-3 with an error. Maikel Franco (HE) went 0-for-4 with 2 whiffs and an error. Yes, that was just the Phillies portion of the duds, there are more. Starling Marte (Rookies) went 0-for-2, was plunked by a pitch, caught stealing and ejected. Quite a day. Javier Baez (GH) made 2 errors and managed a single in a doubleheader. Kris Bryant (R21) went 1-for-8 with an error in that same doubleheader. Matt Carpenter (R21) had an RBI and an error.

Transaction: Misfits send OF David Peralta to the bench after missing three games and replace him with Ender Inciarte.
