Week 6: Tuesday Roundup

We neglected to put former FBLGer Yangervis Solarte's submission for WORST SLIDE EVER in the blog last week.
The best part: as you can see, the throw never even comes to third base.
The 2018 Padres went to Hellickson in a Cellickson.
Studs: Eugenio Suarez (R) doubled, singled twice, scored twice and drove in 4 runs. Jon Gray (BM) struck out 8 in 7 shutout innings for the win. Trevor Story (M) doubled, tripled, walked and drove in 2. Jeremy Hellickson (M) struck out 8 and took a perfect game into the 7th inning in a win. FOR SHAME, PADRES. Josh Hader (PYB) struck out 3 in a 2-inning save. Aaron Nola (PM) finally gave Bill a good pitching outing, striking out 12 and allowing 1 run in a 7-inning win. Sean Newcomb (SG) struck out 6 in 6 shutout innings for a win.

Dud: Marcell Ozuna (PM) went 0-fer with an error.

Weird stat: With James Paxton's no-hitter in a his native Canada on Tuesday, MLB has seen three no-hitters since April 23... in three different countries.

Weird stat 2: Ronald Acuna, Jr. homered for the lone run in a 1-0 Braves win, making him the youngest player to homer in a 1-0 game since Phil Cavaretta in 1935. For more information about that game, ask Reid, who was in the stands that day.
