STUDS: Paul Goldschmidt (CB) homered twice, doubled and drove in 3. Zack Godley (FDD) struck out 6 and allowed 1 run in a 6.2-inning win. Nick Markakis (FDD) tripled, doubled, drove in 2 and scored. Cole Hamels (AL) struck out 9 and allowed 1 run in 7 innings. He was in line to take the loss until the Washington bullpen burned Wrigley Field to the ground. Jesus Aguilar (SG) was a triple short of the cycle, drove in 4 and walked. Dereck Rodriguez (SG) struck out 4 and allowed 1 run in a 7-inning win. Max Scherzer (FF) fanned 11 in 7 shutout innings but didn't get the win because of the aforementioned train wreck in the Nats' bullpen. Noah Syndergaard (BM) struck out 7 and allowed 3 runs in a 7-inning victory.
DUD: Chris Taylor (FDD) went 0 for 4 with an error.
