Week 3: Monday Roundup

Is there anything more fun than sad Mets photos?
Studs: Jacob deGrom (FDD) struck out 12 and allowed 3 runs in a 7.1-inning no decision. He left with 2 runners on and a 6-1 lead before the Mets bullpen metsed all over the place. Trevor Story (M) homered, singled, drove in 3, walked and stole a base. Wait, walked? Story? That must have been quite a sight. Yasmani Grandal (PYB) had a grand slam and an RBI double. Asdrubal Cabrera (PYB) stuck it to Deka with a 4-hit night, including a homer and a pair of RBIs. Bryce Harper (AL) homered and drove in 3 - and the homer was with a damn broken bat. Julio Teheran (AL) had one of his 3 annual amazing outings, striking out 9 Phillies and allowing 1 run in a 6-inning win.

Duds: Jeurys "Unhappy" Familia (PM) blew a save in a mere 0.1 innings. Jose Pirela (PYB) went 0-fer with an error.

Did you know?: Rockies setup man Adam Ottavino has scored 45.7 points this year, more than all but 10 pitchers in the league. Ottavino is 3-0 with 22 Ks and 1 run in only 10.2 innings. ... Anthony Rizzo (PYB), due back off the DL today, is 3-28 with 1 walk to start the year. ... Marlins teammates Starlin Castro (BM) and Derek Dietrich (AL) lead the league with 16 singles apiece. They have combined for 5 extra-base hits. Hey, Jeter, maybe it's time to get your buddies Knoblauch and Velarde to hook your team up with some "vitamins." ... Bryce Harper (AL) is very strong.
