Who needs Freeman and Markakis when you have Inciarte and Camargo? |
 |
How many Gorkys can you spot in this photo? |
STUDS: It was a hitters' paradise in FBLG, apparently. Johan Camargo (FDD) had a monster day in Toronto, going 4 for 5 with a double, hitting his first career grand slam, driving in 5 total and scoring twice. In a doubleheader, Kris Bryant (CB) tripled, doubled twice, drove in a pair and scored once. Matt Carpenter (AL) homered, doubled, drove in 3 and scored twice. Gorkys Hernandez (AL) was a triple short of a cycle and drove in 3. Doesn't seem fair that Tim gets credit for points scored by more than one Gorky, but such is life. Nolan Arenado (PM) had a big game against Jason Vargas and the Mets, which is just about the most predictable thing we've ever written. Arenado was a triple shy of a cycle, drove in 3 and scored twice. Jesus Aguilar (SG), a favorite of fat guys everywhere, homered, doubled, drove in 3 and walked. Trea Turner (SG) went 4 for 4 with a homer, a double and 2 runs. Joey Votto (BM) hit a grand slam, scored twice and walked twice. Ender Inciarte (BM) went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs, 3 RBIs and a walk.
DUDS: Brittle
Brandon Morrow (FDD) hurt his back taking off his pants — that's not a joke — and was unavailable to pitch on one of the rare days Joe Maddon would have actually called his number. Country music sensation John Ryan Murphy (FDD) went 0 for 4 with 3 Ks and a catcher's interference error.
