Week 9: Saturday Roundup

Jacob deGrom wonders what he did to deserve a lifetime of suffering in Queens.
Hello, ladies! John Candelaria is the first in
our occasional series of sexy photos of
ballplayers from the days of yore.
STUDS: Zack Greinke (R) allowed 1 earned run and struck out 6 in a 6.2-inning win against Miami.
Chris Taylor (FDD) tripled, singled, scored, drove in 2 and walked twice. Ben Zobrist (PM) did a little bit of everything, doubling, singling, stealing a base, scoring, driving in 2 and walking twice.

POOR JAKE: The Shakespearean tragedy that is Jacob deGrom's 2018 season continues. The Mets' ace (FDD) struck out 13 and allowed 1 run in 7 innings, but it ended up as a no-decision because the Mets got shut down by Mike Montgomery and other assorted Chicago scrubs before losing hilariously, 7-1, in 14 innings. DeGrom has allowed 3 earned runs total in his past 8 starts — and is 2-0 over that stretch. He is 4-0 in 12 starts this season with a 1.49 ERA. The Mets don't deserve this man.

DUDS: Kris Bryant (CB) went 1 for 8 with an error. Eugenio Suarez (R) walked and erred. Asdrubal Cabrera (PYB) went 0 for 6 with an error.
